We decided to go camping up Fairview Canyon the weekend of July 24Th, Eric thought his sister was going to go but she was doing a yard sale instead, we met Eric's old friend Brian and his wife Judy up there, they live in Mount Pleasant.
We left Friday morning and for those of you that haven't seen Eric's truck it is a 2 wheel drive 1971 Ford F-250, it wasn't running the best, we had a long ride there. We lost all power twice after we got off the highway, (thank god) we had to pull over and wait for the truck to start again, but it did. We finally hit the canyon. It was my first time going up there, it is a steep canyon, the truck was leaking oil really bad, wouldn't drive worth a crap, Eric was worried about me and the dogs getting hot, so he was getting really ornery, so trying to be the optimistic one, I'm telling him it'll be okay, as I'm thinking to myself, we're not going to make it. But low and behold the old truck worked it's guts out and we made it.
Brian and his wife went up earlier and saved us a spot, it was just them and us.
We went fishing, met Brian's dad and step mom and just hung out at camp. It was a quiet little weekend.
We discovered that Jersey is a great fishing partner, he will sit and wait watching the pole, as Ziggy on the other hand won't get out of the water and quit whining for you to play fetch in the water, lesson= never take Ziggy fishing. They both had a blast.
Fairview canyon is very pretty.
