Eric and I decided we wanted to go on one last camping trip for the year so we went up to Granite Flats up American Fork canyon, it was the first of October sometime, he has a 2 wheel drive truck so we decided it would be best to stay at the campground instead of in the dirt.
We got up there Friday night, had no phone service, the campground wasn't to busy so it was nice and quiet. We took our boys, they had a blast.
We got up Saturday morning, started cooking our dutch oven breakfast and we hear someone pull up and holler at Eric, he had no idea who it was, a guy comes walking around his jeep and it was a good family friend Danny and Jill, they decided to get away for the weekend as well and they ended up camping in the spot right next to us. What a small world. We took the dogs down to the lake, I'm sure the people fishing were hating us, you CAN NOT take Ziggy around water and keep him quiet, he loves to dive for rocks and play fetch, he'll howl if you don't. I don't think to many people caught anything while we were there.
We decided to go for a little ride up the dirt road, we had put some whiskey for Eric and some Malibu rum for me in separate water bottles so we could mix us drinks, anybody that drinks knows that Malibu rum is clear and looks like water, Eric wasn't thinking about the water being in the cooler and decided he wanted some water so he took a big swig and to his surprise it was the rum, I was done drinking, he had a couple of drinks with his whiskey, we ate dinner and the alcohol hit him pretty hard, so we ended up going to bed pretty darn early. All in all we had a great time, it's so nice to get away for a couple of days and just relax.
